The
long sought goal of handling MSDS’s without paper is finally becoming
a reality through a breakthrough technology for transmitting Material
Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) electronically. As a result, companies
creating these regulatory documents and automatically dispatching to
their customers may reduce paper generation costs as much as 75%. In
addition, companies will be providing an important customer service by
simplifying the MSDS transmission process, a long desired request of
their customers.
MSDS Generation
Through the Hazox Formulation Application
The same Windows editing features used for creating templates, standard
phrases and complete MSDS’s can now be applied to create MSDS’s
concurrently for electronic transmission as well as for FAX or paper
distribution. As a result, the user can establish a variety of
distribution options during the process of creating MSDS’s.
Code Tagging
Hazox’s unique design of flexible fields added to the MSDS authoring
application makes it possible to tag MSDS’s for electronic
transmission. This tagging places codes at user-defined locations in the
body of the MSDS. The codes, in turn, are used by receiving
organizations for indexing their MSDS’s. The codes are standard open
system computer language and not a proprietary Hazox language. MSDS’s,
when printed, do not show the embedded codes.

of an Overall Distribution System
Hazox software can be used in conjunction with an overall system for
generating, distributing and receiving MSDS’s. Elements of the system
